THE TAUA TAPU TRACK

A 10km stroll from Plimmerton to Pukerua Bay and return, following a track used by Maori in earlier times.
Noel and Rick have reconnoitred this so it is going to be a good one.

Terrain: Amble along the Plimmerton waterfront, ascend 172 steps and then gentle gradient (up and down) along farm track turning just before Pukerua Bay and returning along SH1 with Taupo Swamp on our right. Take time to read the many interesting info boards along the way
When next travelling along this stretch of road you will view with a new perspective
