Meeting at the end of Rata Street in Naenae we will car pool to the top of the Wainuiomata Hill. From there we will follow the ECNZ road along the top of the Eastern Hills, descending via the connecting track to the Rata Street Loop.
Most of the terrain is easy/undulating with a couple of relatively steep descents. Bring a walking pole if you have one. Running or walking shoes are fine, there is no need for tramping boots unless there has been heavy rain prior to us walking.
Walking time, including stops to take in the views, is just over 2.5 hours.
