Rotary Club of Wellington was chartered on 7 June 1921, the first Rotary club in New Zealand!  For over 100 years we have been active in Wellington, locally and in the Pacific. Each club member has the opportunity to contribute their specific talent and expertise to further the causes we select. Rotary is a challenging, stimulating and rewarding experience.

The times and Rotary have evolved, but our strong commitment to making a positive impact remains the same. Founded in 1921,RCW was the first Rotary Club in New Zealand and one of the four founding clubs in Australasia.  The Rotary Club of Wellington has been an important contributor to community development and fundraising for charitable purposes for over 100 years. We've played a pivotal role in establishing major New Zealand charities such as Plunket, the John Ilott Trust, and The Crippled Children’s Society. At the Rotary Club of Wellington, every member still has has the opportunity to contribute their unique talents and expertise to the causes we champion.

We are 1.2 million people dedicated to making a positive impact locally and globally. Our diverse backgrounds and passion for service drive us to achieve remarkable feats.
Empowering Youth: We provide service clubs and programs to help young people gain skills and experience.
Creating Global Impact: With clubs in nearly every country, we connect with leaders, experience new cultures, and use our skills for good.
Making a Difference: Rotary members dig wells, build schools, immunize children, and organize food drives. Rotary’s global strategy has seven key areas of focus – promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, sanitation & hygiene, saving mothers & children, supporting education, growing local economies, protecting the environment. Our commitment to eradicating polio has brought us close to our goal. In pride of place is the trail-blazing End Polio Now global humanitarian effort.
Tackling Challenges: From resolving conflicts to organizing health clinics, Rotary members improve lives in their communities.
