The Skyline Rotary Changing of the Guard Ceremony was held at the Pike Lake Golf and Beach Club.
The 2022 Changing of the Guard ceremony was held in the old pavilion at Pike Lake Golf Course, as their new event center is in the process of being completed. Before the dinner and the ceremony, several members played a friendly round of golf on the warm sunny afternoon. After dinner, the Paul Harrison Award was passed from Greg Kakke to Mark Leutgeb for all of the great work he has done this past year.
A few changes for the upcoming year were announced. New to the board this year: Kevin Kalligher on the Membership Committee, Garrett Suihkonen on the Community Service Committee, and Lisa Neitzel on the Public Image Committee. The remaining board members will continue in their positions and Matt Wicklund and Tim Leutgeb will continue as President and Vice President.
The new theme for Rotary this year will be "Imagine Rotary" RI President Jennifer Jones explained the new theme well: "Imagine, a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference."
Looking around at all of our dedicated members last week, who bring a diverse and dedicated wealth of knowledge, skills and community connections to our organization, who were all visiting, laughing and enjoying each other’s company, I imagine this next year will be our best yet!
