Today the Board met for a training session. We discussed position descriptions, this year's goals, Clubrunner use, Zoom access, Club budget and finances, fundraisers, and projects. A good start for our newer Board members. 

 

Tuesday, September 12th will be our regular monthly Board meeting at noon at the Bent Paddle Taproom and by Zoom. 

 

Last week's meeting was held at the Pike Lake Golf and Beach Club in their new banquet facility. We had special guests Patty Yax and Rod, Curt Teberg, Colton and Vinnie Suihkonen, and a whole clan of Salgys. We talked about upcoming projects; the NorthShore Inline Marathon, the Fall Highway Clean up, the Lester River Rondezvous, and Second Harvest Backpacks. They are all on the Club calendar so check there for details. Rennie from Pike Lake gave us an update on the facilities. This is their fourth season open, and they will be expanding their restaurant this Fall. They have leagues for volleyball, pickleball, and golf and they are installing indoor golf simulators. Condo construction on the golf course property is planned. They will host a Jazz Festival in January and will regularly have music. The owner/developer of the facilities is Roger Anderson who also owns Harbor City Masonry

   

September is Rotary Basic Education and Literacy Month. A good month for our new Board Youth Services duo Alex and Emily to connect with our schools.
