Splash Pad Update – feedback needed
The feasibility committee is looking at MANY factors in making good, data-driven decisions on the splash pad question.  All will be brought to the club, and I want to keep everyone continually informed.

Everyone (including me) is focusing on location, but we need to step back from that.  The Duluth metro area is large enough to support 3-4 splash pads, but we need to be focused on the process.

Initially, we need a written mission/purpose as a guide for all decisions.  That's our current task.

The committee discussed including a few items in the mission statement:
  • Family-friendly, safe, healthy environment
  • Reasonable public transit access
  • Provide to under-served kids (this was defined differently than under-privileged)
  • Work to maximize rotary contribution and visibility there

I would like to hear any other ideas from you our members (including what and why) to be discussed for inclusion in the mission.  Let me know your thoughts, please.
