Sign-up begins in October and anyone is welcome to volunteer.

Rotary Blood Drive

Prior to Easter we host a blood drive. They're essential to ensure a steady blood supply to patients in our area and throughout the country.  This year we reached our goal – 100 cups for 100 years!

Dollars for Scholars

Together with the Breakfast club, our group awards numerous scholarships to area seniors in the Detroit Lakes, Frazee, and Lake Park-Audubon districts. This year Wayne Benson, Noon Rotarian & one of the founders of Dollars awarded his own scholarship along with 176 generous scholarships, totaling over $247,000 to the Detroit Lakes Class of 2023.  12 scholarships, totaling $12,000 were presented on behalf of our president, Anna Schmitz.

Dictionary Project

We team up with Interact each December to present dictionaries to over five hundred 3rd Grade Students in DL, Lake Park-Audubon, Waubun-Ogema-White Earth, and Frazee-Vergas school districts.

Dictionaries provided to area students are so much more than a place to look up words. They contain information on all of the US Presidents, Fifty States, Planets and Solar System, sign language, and so much more.

Highway 10 Cleanup

Twice a year our club spends an evening cleaning the ditch on a section of Highway 10. Bags are stuffed with bumpers, beanies-along with a lot of other unmentionables. The best find so far goes to a very lucky member claiming a $20 bill!

Becker County Food Pantry

Each June our club fills the shifts at the Becker County Food Pantry which is a part of North Country Food Bank. As hunger continues to grow, North Country has established innovative programs to address the need, including:  recovering surplus food from manufacturers and retailers; developing a program that provided for the acquisition and distribution of fresh produce; and initiating programs that address childhood and senior hunger.
