DL Breakfast Rotary's 8/13/24 program:  Mary S. introduced Jesse Grabow a 26-year veteran of the Minnesota State Patrol.   She notes that Sgt. Grabow is a 3rd generation patrolman who wears many hats but is a specialist in the patrol’s public information program.   He also has an array of passions – hunting, travel, fishing, and Black Hill spruce planting, among others.

Grabow described the patrol, founded in 1929, now consisting of 600 troopers, and mentioned the patrol’s colors – maroon and gold which derived from a celebration of a U of M’s winning football team.   He noted the many changes in the patrol’s function, including  its role in public relations, education,  involvement in crash investigations,  relations with other law enforcement agencies,  and the addition of commercial enforcement responsibilities.   He also called attention to the technology, explaining the links between dash cameras and body cameras and his car and weaponry.

There were many questions from members, including the one most frequently asked (“How fast can I go before getting stopped?”)

His supervisor, Captain Cheney also spoke and answered questions.
