This week, President, Nick Preikschas will give an end of term speech to the members as he steps down as president and welcomes Rebecca Price into her new role.  Nick has also arranged for Danielle Amos to guest speak in thought of providing a positive outlook leading into our new presidents term.

Prior to the presidential end of term speech, if time permits, we would like to brief on the below items:

  • COVID-19 Relief efforts
  • Waves for Wishes and how we can distribute the magnets purchased
  • District 6330 People of Action
  • Stratford Soccer Association Pathway Construction set for mid July, opportunity for bench sponsorship etc.

    Last Rotaract Club Meeting...
     
    Nick Preikschas, our current president will be stepping down as president as he has taken on a new role with Invest Stratford as time with the club will be minimized.
     
    Our last Rotaract meeting our guest speaker was Festival City Rotary Club President Tyler Canal.  Nick invited Tyler to be the guest speaker to provide a different perspective to our incoming board members and future board members.

    Tyler provided great insight on how their club members are continuing to help through Covid-19, the experience of being president, and lessons learned to provide insight for future members.

    Tyler has enjoyed his time as president. He shared that the biggest thing that has helped him through his Presidency has been a supportive and trusting board, communication, and organization.

    Tyler then opened the conversation for questions that the members has and can be found in the meeting minutes attached.

    Rotary Grants:
    The club has generally not taken advantage of available grants. Our Member Jane Schwering will be attending an online training focussed on grant writing.
     
    Open Conversation:

    • Virtual Scavenger Hunt idea for fundraising.  This would be a good way to give the community something to do.  It will be considered to be completed within our club as a team building activity.

    • District Conference will be taking place on a virtual platform on Saturday June 13th, save the date and stay tuned for details.
