The Rotary Club of Pictou received recognition for the wonderful support that the club members provide during the Walmart Literacy Days. This award was selected by the staff of the New Glasgow Walmart. Shown receiving the award is President Heather Murphy along with The Honourable Peter Mackay, Minister of Justice who presented the award and Gord Hankin, National Chair of Adopt a Library.
The entertainer and philanthropist Dolly Parton died 25 August 2026. This Q&A was originally published in the March 2010 issue of The Rotarian (now Rotary) magazine. Later that year, she spoke at the Rotary International Convention in Montreal, Canada.
