Malak Mansour , aged 15, attends Underdale High School and participated in the Rotary Youth Development Voyage on the sailing ship “One and All” from 30 September to 4 October 2018. The voyage was from Port Adelaide to Victor Harbor, then to Kangaroo Island and back to Port Adelaide. Malak is very appreciative of the opportunity to participate in this Youth Development Voyage and feels that she has gained confidence and leadership skills from that voyage. The most memorable component for her was doing a “night shift” on board.
Our other young visitor was Alexandra James who we sponsored to attend the National Youth Science Forum in 2015 and RYLA in 2017. She formerly attended Brighton Secondary School. Alexandra who is now studying a Bachelor of Science Advanced at Adelaide University is now one of the secretaries for RYPEN Metro 2019 and gave us a promotional talk for the next camp being held between 12 and 16 April this year.
