SUBMISSIONS FOR COMMUNITY GRANTS HAVE NOW CLOSED

The Rotary Club of Mount Barker is a local community-based service club, made up of dedicated members, donating their time to raise funds to spend in our local community, Australia wide & internationally. Rotarians generously work together to aid those in need.

Over the past years, we have participated in a wide variety of activities:

  • The club Donut van at the Royal Adelaide show and Lobethal Lights, Day on the Green events, Monster Trucks, Birdwood Farm Day and Show and Shine Car and Motorbike Show for Brain Cancer Research
  • BBQ's throughout the local community
  • Organised events including the Mount Barker Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and Local Citizen Awards, ANZAC Day RSL Gunfire Breakfast and Hungry No More
  • Funded local at-risk young adults to attend Operation Flinders
  • Funded local youth to attend Rotary’s Youth Leadership programs and National Youth Science Forum
  • Traffic management at Sophie Thompsons Open Gardens, Natures Play Days and Show and Shine Car and Motorbike Show for Brain Cancer Research
  • Assisted many local groups to provide Christmas hampers to those in need in our community.
  • Hands On Projects – building of prosthetic hands fitted to landmine victims in Vietnam and Cambodia plus assembly of Birthing Kits to assist vulnerable women and newborns in underdeveloped areas of the world to survive and hopefully thrive.

The Club would like to hear from members of the local community, not for profit groups, environmental groups and individuals about community projects that you feel could be supported by the Rotary Club of Mt Barker with a one-off project grant of up to $1,500. Hence it is with excitement that the club is advising that the Rotary Club of Mount Barker Community Grant Program applications for 2022-2023 are now open.

We encourage you to tell us about a community project the Rotary Club of Mount Barker could support. If successful, you will be asked to come and speak to the members of the Rotary Club of Mt Barker on the presentation evening in April 2023.

To learn more about how Rotary supports the communities, you or a member of your organisation will be expected to attend three meetings of the Rotary Club of Mount Barker.
