The Rotary Club of Mount Barker is passionate about supporting the grassroots of our community — the volunteers, the doers, the quiet achievers who make our region stronger, kinder and more connected. This year, we were proud to present twelve Community Grants to local organisations representing six different communities across the Mount Barker district.

At a special club dinner, representatives from each organisation joined us to share their stories. They spoke about the work they do, the people they support, and how their grant funding will help them make an even bigger impact. Projects ranged from wellbeing initiatives and facility upgrades to sports equipment, a community barbecue, and a pantry supporting local families. Each story was a reminder of the extraordinary dedication that exists within our region’s volunteer groups.

Community Grants are an important part of Rotary’s commitment to service. While Rotary has a global reach — supporting international aid, education, health and peacebuilding — we also have a strong focus on youth programs and local community projects. These grants allow us to directly support the grassroots organisations that quietly transform lives every day.

The funds for these grants come from a source familiar to many in our district: our famous hot donuts. Every donut sold helps us raise money for projects just like these — a delicious way for the community to support the great work happening across the Hills.

We congratulate all twelve of our 2026 recipients and thank them for the vital contributions they make to the wellbeing and vibrancy of our region. Their passion inspires us, and we are proud to stand beside them.
