As in previous years, we were delighted to present Rotary Student Awards at Blackwood High School.  The recipients for 2020 were -
  • University Scholarship of $1,500 - Olivia Smith
  • Year 12 Award of $500 – Samara Sam
  • Year 12 VET Award of $500 - Scarlett Partridge-Powell
  • Year 11 Award of $500 – Mikayla Heddle
  • Year 11 VET Award of $500 - Gemma Vasey
  • Year 10 Award of $500 - Harrison Lemmey
  • Year 10 Jeff Hunter Science Award of $300 - Sophie North
Congratulations to all the students.
Due to COVID and a lack of funds we were unable to contribute to the Conoco Philips Science Experience, Health of the River Sponsorship, Long Term Youth Exchange and RYLA.  Maybe next year.
However, we were able to support Lachlan McKeown who attended the RYPEN camp in April at Woodhouse in the Adelaide hills.
In October 2020 three local primary schools, Coromandel Valley, Bellevue Heights and Eden Hills donated groceries that were donated from their families to the local charity Beacon.  Delivery was delayed due to COVID lockdown but with the help of the Gnomes it was finally achieved.
Blackwood High School Dinner was held in May 2021 and was very well attended by members and partners.  Toni Hughes, Senior Food and Hospitality Teacher did an excellent job organizing the evening for us and all the students did a great job catering and serving. Musical entertainment was provided by Year 12 students – an excellent evening as usual!
