Sharon Brown and Edna Besaw were recognized as Paul Harris Fellows by John Moldon at our meeting on Tuesday.
John donated his Paul Harris credits in recognition of the tireless work by both Sharon and Edna who live the spirit of Rotary in their vocation and their life.

Sharon, a member of the club, worked closely with the late Mel Boutilier  at Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank and then at Metro Care and Share Society where she is presently employed. She treats this as her calling and not her job. She also volunteers and organizes in various activities in the North End of Halifax and volunteered with the Rotary Club of Dartmouth East before becoming an active member. She was introduced to the club when she worked at Hearthstone Inn, our meeting place. She quickly became part of the family.

Edna is a close friend of the club.  She is employed at Hearthstone and can be counted on to be ready to fill in on short notice when weather makes it difficult for others to make the trek to work. Where Rotary is concerned, Edna goes yet another mile: every week we walk into a room ready for a meeting thanks to a caring and efficient Edna. When there was a change in ownership of the Inn, Edna connected the club with the owner so we could make a case to allow us to continue using the space. In addition Edna actively participates in our volunteer activities and social events.

Both Edna and Sharon embody the spirit of a Paul Harris Fellow.
