-Next Meetings: October 7^th cancelled in Lieu of Oktoberfest Lunch on Friday, October 9^th.

October 14^th speaker Dr. Allen Whiteside – Rotary, South Africa and the HIV/AIDS Epidemic.

- Guest, Sandy Hill spoke about a fund raising project that the International Committee is working on for 2016.  This event will involve collecting any type of art either from your home or soliciting art from artists in the community that would like to donate a piece that can be auctioned off for a good cause.  There will also be tickets available for purchase toward food and wine as well as a silent auction table.  Those who purchase tickets are guaranteed to go home with a piece of art.
- Jack Kinch, also mentioned the 2015 Rotary Election Pool he organized to support Polio Plus.  The Pool is based on October 19^th Federal Election. $20 per ballet  You may submit your entry and money by October 16^th to Jack Kinch, Everton Wilmot or David Barth
- John Vickery also announced that there are still Oktoberfest Lunch tickets available and Friday, October 2^nd is the last day to purchase them.

 

 

Total pot was $260.50.  Sandy Hill, Brandon Flewwelling and Jack Kinch all had their ticket drawn, but no winner.

 

 

Guest Speaker Tatiana Wagulter, Rotary Peace Scholar

Tatiana Wugalter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Alberta. She has spent the past three years working for the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights, a non-profit organization in Edmonton, as well as holding executive positions for two other organizations: the Students’ International Health Association and Ainembabazi Children’s Project. Tatiana was recently named one of Alberta’s ‘Top 30 Under 30’ by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation and is a member of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO’s Youth Advisory Group. She is beginning her Master of Arts in Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs this fall. 
 

Tatiana spoke about all the “Human Rights” work she did in Tanzania promoting good health, clean water, and malaria prevention.  As an example, a group of volunteers went from house to house providing clean water tablets, as well sold mosquito nets at a price that most people could afford.  Leftover nets were given to families who could not afford them.

Her main objective is for people living in third world countries to live with Peace, Health and Dignity and build positive
