The Early Bird Draw was held on April 15th. The winning ticket was sold by Brad Swanson. The lucky winner was Fern Greb.  The winner will receive a Disney 7 Day Caribbean Cruise for 4 people. The trip is valued at $6,800.

Milaina Wright was introduced by Mark Hicks. Milaina is the Tournament Director for the Manulife LPGA Classic golf tournament.  This year the event will be held at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge. The tournament runs from June 3-7. Manulife has increased its pool of prize money to $1.5 million US.

 

The LPGA tour has only two stops in Canada. The tournament will bring the top golfers in the world to compete at Whistle Bear. 150 Golfers will participate.  This is the 4^th year the Region has hosted the event.

 

Over 180,000 spectators have gone to the event when it was held at Grey Silo in Waterloo. The change of course this year is expected to draw strong crowds.

 

The event has raised over $800,000 for the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. Over 1,000 volunteers with are needed to hold the tournament. There are numerous Hospitality packages available. This year the event will include a Family Fun Zone, Putting Challenge worth $50,000, food trucks and a beer tent.
