Oh Christmas Free!

Oh X-mas Free is coming on Saturday, December 5th from 9am-12pm and once again KidsAbility will be relying on the participation of Kitchener-Westmount Rotarians to help!   

For those of you who may be new to Rotary this is a rare opportunity for our members to become directly involved in the work that we support through KidsAbility.  “Oh Christmas Free” provides KidsAbility parents with a much needed break (to go Christmas shopping or just to re-connect on an adult level) while their children are cared for by a group of dedicated staff and volunteers at the Waterloo KidsAbility site on Hallmark Drive. These families have commented on what an amazing experience it is for them and for many this is the first time they have ever left their child in the care of someone else.

Kitchener-Westmount Rotarians have played a crucial role in this event for the past several years and it is a great morning for all. You will be paired up with a staff member from KidsAbility to help out with an activity centre.  All you need to do is contact Jayne Matzeg to register.  She will send you a registration form to complete and bring along with you on December 5 at 9am.  From there you will be assigned an activity centre and tasks for the morning.  It is very well run, thanks to the Social Work team at KidsAbility and a wonderful way for our club to interact with clients and staff and learn more about KidsAbility.
