On October 20th 60 Rotarians and guests gathered at Cronulla RSL for a High Tea to raise funds to continue our work in Fiji.
What a wonderful day everyone had. The atmosphere in the room was great and all present gave generously to support our fundraising efforts.
Thank you to Carol Denison who led our International team on this fundraiser. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes but it all came together beautifully.
We are already planning our next trip to Fiji, and plan to freight a dentist chair kindly donated, updates to come in 2019.

Rosie, our team leader in Fiji thanked us all on behalf of her village for the ongoing help and support we give to the Fijian community. Our guest speaker, Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace gave an excellent and humorous address on her career in the NSW Police Force. I believe every female leader has had to navigate things differently to be successful, and the ability to think differently in terms of problem solving is a great strength in female leaders.

Deborah delivered this when early in her career she turned up at the most notorious pub in the Western Suburbs and politely asked the bikies to disperse quietly and go home – and they did. That story was priceless.

Deborah is to be admired for her stellar career and is now commanding officer of the NSW Gangs Squad and overseen the work of Strike Force Raptor, the elite anti-bikie squad.

Our District Governor Sue Hayward came straight from another engagement and spoke about her passion for Rotary and how you can become involved with a range of programs from health, peace, water, indigenous and polio. There is something for everyone.

Thank you to the club members who supported the event and brought family and friends – it is so much appreciated.  We are already planning our next trip and will keep you updated.
