Jonah Place

On Jan. 12, 2009, Phil Sellars, owner of Jonah Place, was the Club’s guest speaker. Phil took ownership of Jonah Place bed and breakfast in April 2008, having moved here with his wife from Calgary, where he lived for 25 years. Originally from Ontario, they decided they wanted the slower, friendly pace of the Maritimes and eventually settled on the Sussex business...

Both Phil and his wife worked in the financial industry previously.

Jonah Place was initially built in 1884 by the Stockton’s. It opened as a B&B in 1997. It was recently designated as a historic property. The couple has plans for modest expansion and renovating the old carriage house. Jonah Place has beautiful Victorian splendour located on two acres of quiet, secluded grounds which make your stay unforgettable.

Phil has quickly become involved in the community as a director for the Sussex Chamber of Commerce and the Kings County Tourism Association as well as coaching a local hockey team.
