Rotary Awards $6,000 in scholarships to local high school students
Rotary Scholarships: Rotary Club of Saint John awards Rotary Scholarships to four High School Students in Saint John, in the amount of $1,500 each, towards their post secondary education. The four recipients were selected from 13 applicants.
One student will be attending the University of Waterloo, another will be enrolling at Acadia University, a third at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, and a fourth at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John.
And the Rotary Scholarship Award Recipients are:
- Jeremy Springthorpe, Harbourview High School. Rotarian Gary Buzzell attended the graduation ceremony, and presented Jeremy with a letter of commitment for $1,500. Gary noted, “The Club received a great deal of publicity, and many compliments and expressions of thanks. This recognition means a lot not only to the students but also to the school”.
- Hejin Wang, St. Malachy's High School
- Clara Fields, Simonds High School and,
- Lisa Wolfe, Saint John High School
