President, Rotary 2005-2006

Last year was the Centennial Year for Rotary International and clubs around the world embarked on many projects to commemorate this special milestone in Rotary history. Here in Saint John we decided to continue with our long standing tradition of giving back to the community and to support the future of our city, through support of our youth.

That is why we pledged support for The Resource Centre for Youth (TRC) project which was initiated in 1998 by a group of community agencies, business leaders, government service providers and youth who were concerned about young people and how Saint John was providing for youth at risk within our community.

Rotary has a long history in this community and you can see the results of it's support through it's commitment to the Boys & Girls Club, the Admiral Beatty Senior's Complex, the Saint John Regional Hospital Pedway and other various senior citizens housing projects.

Now we are embarking on another major fundraising campaign to support the relocation of the current TRC facility into a larger, more efficient facility in the soon to be renovated St Joseph's School, which will become the new home for "The Resource Centre for Youth".

We are asking for your support in this essential community initiative and hope that you will invest in the future of our youth and in the future growth of our city. Your donation will make a big difference in reducing the number of youth at risk in our community.
