In 1991, Saint John Non Profit Housing Inc. was asked to participate in a joint venture with the Province of New Brunswick and a private developer to construct 24 units of mixed income senior and small family housing. The Rotary Club of Saint John agreed to become a partner in this unique opportunity to provide housing for a mix of incomes, ages and social backgrounds. The project opened in the Spring of 1992 and was fully occupied by the Summer of 1992. The rent structure for Rotary Court is six units at market rent and 18 units for which the company receives a subsidy from the Department of Municipalities, Culture & Housing.
