The Saint John Rotary Boys Choir is one of Canada's oldest boys choirs located in the city of Saint John, New Brunswick. In 1965 local musician and Rotarian Dr. Len Morgan proposed and started this new Atlantic Canadian boys choir. The choir has provided choral, vocal and music training for hundreds of boys from the Saint John and surrounding area. The choir has been under the direction of several fine conductors including Mark Leroux, Joyce Lumb, Spencer Belyea, Charles Willet, and Walter Ball. The choir's present director, formerly an original Rotary Boy's Choir member is Mr Kevin Langford, a Paul Harris Fellow, himself. Kevin has been director of the choral ensemble since 1984.
The choir has won several awards in the New Brunswick Competitive Festival of Music and on several occasions represented our province at the national music festival.
The Rotary Boys Choir has sung and peformed a wide range of repetoire over the years from folk songs, sacred, madrigals, up to the present pop and contemporary classics, i.e Canada's own Murray Schaffer and Saint John's Richard Kidd.
The choir has also performed for many community, provincial, national and international events.
During Rotary's Christmas luncheon on Dec. 18, 2006, guests were entertained by the Rotary Boys Choir. During the luncheon, President Don presented Rotary's annual $5,000.00 cheque of support to Choir Director Kevin Langford. Joining Kevin along with the boys was Maureen Beckwith, accompianist.
