Norm Purdy - President's Address

At our year end meeting on Monday, June 25th, our incoming President addressed the club and thanked Corey for his leadership and contribution to the club over the past Rotary year .....

Fellow Rotarians,

I would like us all to take a moment to recognize the tremendous contribution that Corey Childs has made to this club. Over the past 12 months Corey has been an inspiration to us all. Here is a man who was able to overcome personal hardship with the deaths of his father and brother earlier this year, who negotiated the purchase of his company from his former employer  and who personally took on Club Service, arranging speakers to make our meetings better. All while serving as president with overall responsibility for club operations.

Corey has set the bar high through his personal dedication and work ethic to make us a stronger more vital club. I would like to thank him on your your behalf for an excellent presidency, and look forward to his continued contributions to the club both in fellowship and as co chair of the fundraising committee.

It is Great Day to Be a Rotarian !!

It is truly my honour to have been selected to lead the club this year. The past presidents before me have left big boot boots to fill and my commitment is to do just that.

Today was about celebrating and recognizing the contributions of Corey and his team , and I don’t want to overshadow that. At our next assembly on July 9 – I will more fully outline this year’s theme, our major goals and plans to get there.  In closing just let me say thank you for your confidence. I will do the best I can to earn and retain that confidence as we move through the Rotary year together.   That said we are adjourned have a great Rotary Week!!
