President Guy's Farewell Message
This past year has given me personal, business and Rotary challenges.
Many thanks for the strong Rotary Board for which I had the pleasure of working with to obtain a very successful year.
Fund raising activities totaled approximately $45,000 for a very good year. Approximately $30,000 is committed annually to support the many causes we are involved in. The additional $15,000 or more per year is dedicated towards major projects.
Some Fellowship events included -
1/ New Board gathering at my home
2/ Club Golf Tournament
3/ Octoberfest Dinner
4/ Black Tie Dinner
5/ Boat Cruise
6/ Bicapital Golf Tournament
7/ Charter Night
8/ Christmas Luncheon
9/ Membership Development Seminar
10/ District Conference
11/ GSE team from Australia
We received the Presidential Citation Award this year which required a strong effort to complete the many required tasks. We presented 3 Paul Harris Fellowships - Richard Oland, Elsie Wayne and Rotarian Mark Richards. The GSE team from South Australia was very successful and a lot of fun for all who participated.
Exchange Student, Camille Sintive from Lyon's France is presently enjoying her cross Canada Tour.
A number of offsite meetings were included - The Saint John Airport, The Boys & Girls Club, Chateau Champlain Apartment Complex and the Saint John City Market.
In an effort to promote further camaraderie, I had Rotary T Shirts prepared for each member of our Club.
In closing, I would like to thank all Rotarians for your support in my tenure and I truly look forward to working with you all to "Lend a Hand" and live up to our motto of "Service Above Self".
Yours in Rotary,
Guy Richards
President,
