Mundingburra Rotarian were given a lovely & colourful presentation from members of the Blankets of Love Townsville group at our meeting on Thursday night.
These community minded people make a large number of knitted and beautiful blankets for a variety of people in difficult times. It may we be a special blanket for parents losing a child at birth, someone in the Townville University Hospitals various wards, or a person arriving for medical assistance via the Royal Flying Doctor service.
The size of the blanket depends on the individual s need and is meant to provide comfort to the person and members of their families.
These Blankets of Love people accept donations of material, and also purpose backing material from various sources. If you have any material that you don’t need, consider a donation as the love will make for someone in real need in our community.
Mundingburra Rotary Club has previously made some financial assistance to this small caring group, who do all the work free of charge, and its expected the club will also provide some additional assistance again shortly.
Ladies thank you for a wonderful presentation and seeing the manner in which you bring love and happiness to people in a time of need.
