Belinda Karahalios
MPP for Cambridge - Bill 150 & A State of the Province

Belinda Karahalios is Parliamentary Assistant to the Solicitor General (Correctional Services) and the Member of Provincial Parliament for Cambridge and is a Member of the Standing Committee on Social Policy.

 

Previously, Belinda served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services. In this role, she dealt with the child welfare system, violence against women, and human trafficking. 

 

Before her election as MPP, Belinda worked in healthcare in both the private and non-profit sectors. Working one-on-one with patients and advocating for their needs with the Kidney Foundation of Canada allowed her to hear the challenges faced by both patients and health care professionals. 

 

A first generation Canadian with her parents being born in Portugal and Trinidad, Belinda is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology. 

 

Belinda and her husband Jim live in Cambridge with their son Victor and their corgi Julie.
