Program
President Raj introduced our guest speaker - this year's winner of the Wilf Rieck Pitch contest which is an annual event in partnership with Conestoga College.
The initial donation to our Foundation was $100,000 to be used to help small business in the region.
Stephen McCabe CEO of Kwkly  was the recipient of the main prize pool which was $5000 of $8000.
KWKLY is Canada's first on demand local delivery service.  They deliver all of the essentials you may want and need  in our region- anything from cleaning supplies to medicine, snacks and now liquor
They  have been growing Kwkly however, with covid and ever increasing fuel costs they are also feeling the pressure with their drivers and overall costs.
They have two warehouses housing higher margin products in order to create quick and efficient delivery.
The prize money was used for three main areas - increased advertising and Brand Awareness, expansion into the Elmira region which is currently not supported by any other service and lastly expanded to sell liqour.
In order to sell liqour all drivers are required to be smart serve licensed.  They must use their own judgement whether the delivery should be left to be consumed if the host or those requesting be out of hand.
Stephen thanked the club and the Wilf Rieck Family for the opportunity to help and grow his business.
Great questions by many members of the club
Jim McPherson who was one of the judges - thanked the speaker .
