Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Rajbir is opened the meeting 12:35.   Katie read the 4 way test and a glass was raised to toast Canada and Rotary across the globe.
Sargeant of Arms Jim Johnston reported that there were 17 members present, including 3 Zoomers.
50-50 Draw

Jimmy McP ran today's draw. Pot was up by $175 from the day's ticket sales, bringing the winnings to well over $1,000. Brian and Keith culled the deck down to 8 remaining cards for next week and there really is an Ace of Spades in there (I checked).

Good News
Matt M was happy to report that the Guelph Country Club opened last week. Matt played 9 holes and managed an April birdie. Let's hope May brings another fowl friend (perhaps an Eagle) rather than a bogey. The Toddler was quick to announce during Matt's Good News time that Matt will also being doing BINGO tomorrow night on behalf of our club. This sort of karma might very well bring that May Eagle your way!

Treasurer Tom E announced that his curling fold won the GCC Curling Club Championship last week. I've seen Tom curl and his style is even more exacting than his accounting. Well done and congrats, Tom!

Treasurer Tom also mentioned that our very own Randy Cole won a brand new curling broom in a draw held at the final GCC Curling Club Championship. Congrats, Randy!
Announcements and Upcoming Events
Rena reminded us about our club's spring clean up event on Saturday, April 23rd. Location is Dumfries Park/Conservation Area on Dunbar Road. Rena needs confirmation of all who plan to attend and will be reaching out to us by email closer to the date. Keep watching your inbox for more info!

Paul McM reminded us about our Veteran's Golf Tournament on Monday, May 30th. Registration is now up and running on our website. Volunteers and contributions for participant bags are needed. Please help!

President Elect Todd put out a request for Bingo Volunteers. Best to Volun-teer before you are Volun-told.

The Toddler also did a plug for our evening gathering at the GCC on Thursday, April 28th which is to be a combination of his President's Levy and Club Fireside. Start time is 5:30pm. More info to follow over the next week or two.

Program
President Rajbir announced that today's speaker and newest member, Vince De Cicco, was unable to do his Who Am I talk today. Fortunately, our very own Brian Waddell was able to offer us an oar-iginal presentation of his own as he shared his experiences with the Cambridge Rowing Club (CRC).

Let's start off by mentioning that Brian did a Learn to Row workshop with the CRC eight years ago. Not long after, Brian became a Coach for the CRC and is now President, all of which demonstrates his ability to row to the finer ranks of a very impressive club. Brian came with many fine props that included a very sleek and singular Kacshper NX rowing shell. We admired the beast outside and noted it's very sleek and narrow build. Jim McP seemed impressed but most disappointed that it did not have a drink holder. I noted that, at a cost of $7K, the shell should come with a more padded seat. Brian mentioned that these shells come as singulars, doubles and quads.

Back indoors, Brian had a few Ergs (stationery rowing machines) set up for folks like Rena, Keith and Dr Tom to test drive. Brian also shared various photos of the club activities in Cambridge, Welland and the Head of the Trent (Peterborough). The CRC has its base at Riverbluffs Park which is just up the way from Wrinkle Walk (Jim Johnston and John Jonas can tell you more). FUN FACT is that some boats in Cambridge were rented out for the filming of Departure episodes (you'll find it on Prime TV).

The CRC offers year round training. In the winter, Ergs are used to practice and doing so in front of mirrors helps to check form - not just your own but of those around you. Brian mentioned something about Tayler Swift Tuesdays and I think it had to do with the indoor winter practice sessions although I can't be totally sure. Maybe it's a different club he belongs to. At any rate, I do know that the CRC's Learn to Row spring classes are already filled. Rena endorsed these sessions as she and her sister took part in them about ten years ago and it seems that folks are pretty keen to check this sport out. Rumour has it that a club outing to either row or picnic on the docks is in the planning Stay tuned for more info.

Keith Peers thanked Brian for being a Lifesaver and for doing his presentation so swimmingly. Personally I think Brian did such a good presentation on this topic that I think he should be officially acclaimed as our Club Oar-ator. :)
