Pres. Heidi introduced our Incoming President Rajbir Mann to speak to us about International Service Roger is with out a doubt the most passionate Rotarian I have ever met when it comes to International Service. We only gave him half an hour, but I know he could discuss this for hours, and you'd be interested in all he has to say. He spoke to us about many recent projects, and a few that we are currently right in the middle of - and through this, gave us an understanding of the fore-thought, planning, connections, and execution that goes in to each of these projects. To name a few: - feeding humgry children in Torres De La Paz and Cristo Rey Communities - ensuring adequate and clean water in Chilumba - Malawi - for 4,000 people - building a mini-hospital for training in Chiquimula Guatemala - US$31,000 from 12 clubs in our district grows to US$196,000 with matching grants - supporting Shelter Box - 210,000 people sheltered in 2019 - supporting maternal and child health in Quintana Roo Mexico - Crystal Drops of Life - Roger first started this organization to assist in the remote parts of India, but has now grown to help in Africa and Mexico - they concentrate on clean water, sanitation, and literacy We are so fortunate to have Roger as a resource in our club! Anyone interested in assisting, Roger is always open for new members on the International committee. Thank you Roger for all you do, for Rotary and the world. |
