The Rotary Clubs of Rochester, through the World Community Service Team, has had its grant application to provide efficient vented stoves and community health training in Guatemala approved!
This global grant is centered around improving pulmonary health by removing current stoves in village huts and installing vented stoves. 
 
 
The grant will also be used to train community health workers in lung function assessment and technical aspect of spirometry use, pulse oximeter and air bean sensor, basic lung health assessment, data recording and reporting in coordination with San Lucas de Tolimán hospital in Guatemala. The grant is sponsored by E-Club of Lake Atitlán - Panachel (D-4250) and RC Rochester (D-5960) with funding by The Rotary Foundation. The award is in the amount of US$55,823. The goal is to eventually install 1,000 vented stoves.
