In the effort to Eradicating Polio and fulfill our promise to the children of the world, the Rotary Club of Woodbridge in collaboration with the City of Vaughan, will be raising the Polio Flag on October 24. The City Hall building will be also lit up in red, yellow & white to celebrate World Polio.
Since 1985, Rotary has contributed US$2.1 billion, and its members have logged countless volunteer hours to help immunize more than 3 billions children. If Polio isn't stopped now, the disease could stage a comeback, effecting an estimated 200,000 children every year.
To sustain this project, and protect all children from polio, Rotary has committed to raising US $50 million per year in support of global Polio eradication efforts. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will match Rotary's commitment 2:1.
Help us in eradicating Polio!
(Polio Flag will be raising on October 24 from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm at the City of Vaughan ground, due to Elections there will be no public attendance)
