As we go through the days of summer, we look forward to three events: Pass the Gavel, the Bike Rodeo, and, as we start heading into fall, our Golf Tournament. All these events can be found on our calendar.
Maria Roman is doing an outstanding job chairing and applying all her skills to the bike rodeo, which came up at the last minute. Her efforts are outstanding, and the rotarians who helped volunteer are promising to make this a great day for the kids—my sincere thanks.
To pass the gavel, all the information is available for registration above. They celebrate Harold as the past president, and to celebrate with the club for my presidency, we hope to see you all there.
Many of you have signed up for the committees list, and I do appreciate that. I will be reaching out for one-on-ones to see if we can still fill some missing committee spots. Committees are the backbone of every Rotary Club; ours is no different. If you have not joined two committees, find the ones that interest you most and sign up. If you have any questions or concerns, I am available to help direct you to which committees need help. Many hands make light work, and together, we will achieve more.
Our Golf tournament, organized by Mike Suntag, is already being assembled. We always need more raffle gifts and volunteers to make the tournament a success. Anyone interested, please contact Mike Stugant for more information to have a great afternoon of fun and camaraderie.
I am proud to announce that my president's projects for this year are:
- The Connecticut Burns Care Foundation. Which is a 501c3 that supports burn survivors 8-17 all around the world who attend our Aurther C Luf burn camp.
- The New Paradigm Theater. Is a nonprofit professional theater that has joined the Stratford community. During their summer rehearsal and performances, children ages 8-17 have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, which end up culminates into a Broadway experience for the audience. This year's show is Hairspray, which will be at Stratford High School. Which envelops students from both Stratford and Bunnell High School.
