Lending hands in Stratford

As you may recall, we funded a roof replacement two years ago at Bethlehem House on Jackson Avenue in Stratford. They are Stratford’s only transitional housing for homeless families, and we currently support nine families. As a member of their Advisory Board, Director Dina Hill is requesting donations of school supplies. I am asking if Rotary could send a plea to its members to purchase any school supplies, and I will pick them up at the meeting or their home if needed.

Hello, my name is Andrew Sinish. My mother Fran has been a Rotarian for many years.
I live in Stratford, Connecticut. As a person with a physical disability, I am in need of a
Personal Care Assistant to aid me in my activities of daily living in my home. Below is a brief description of the care that I need, what skills I'm looking for in a person, flexible
 

hours, and pay rate.
$20 per hour/ 20–40 hours per week
Mornings, evenings, weekends available
In need of the following care:
● Bathe in bed
● Dress / undress
● Bathroom assistance
● Transfer to power chair / bed –using ceiling lift
● Apply / remove leg braces
● Hygiene, Hair, Skin care
● Meal preparation
● Soak and wash feet
● Light housekeeping
Must be:
● 21 years old+
● Valid license and reliable transportation
● Non-smoker
● Reliable
● Delicate
● Patient
● Respectful of personal space
I can train on how to do everything so that I am comfortable and feel safe. The best
qualified candidate is not necessarily someone with the most experience, just someone
who is willing to learn.
