The Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood is having a Celebration Dinner and Roast for their 40th Anniversary at the Jubilee Pavilion at Lakeview Park in Oshawa on September 22, 2016, it was announced today by Rotary Club President David Andrews.

We are calling on all past, present and even future Rotarians and their spouses, together with Rotarians and their spouses from the neighbouring Rotary Clubs, in southern Ontario to join us in celebrating our 40th Year as The Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood”' , he said.

Chair of the 40th birthday celebration, called “A Ruby Affair” in honour of the 40th anniversary, is Rotarian Sandra McDowell. She and her committee have planned quite an evening starting at 5:30 cocktails and a 6:30 dinner. The event will be in a roast-style format, with lots of stories from the past, featuring some colourful club members that chronicle the 40 year history of having fun and going good in the community, and throughout the world.

There will be lots of tables of memorabilia to look which will bring back fond memories of our past. And there even will be a chance to win a real ruby! “, added Mrs McDowell.

We are all looking forward to a three course meal, cocktails, and lots of laughs as we relive some of the fun and festivities.

And the Rotary Club also helps many communities world wide with such projects as providing clean water and sanitation , and with PolioPlus, Rotary Clubs all ove rthe world working to eradicate Poli from the world.
