Heroes in Action: 24 New Heroes Ready to Save a Life

On August 22, 2026, the Rotary Club of Markham-Unionville brought our community together for Heroes in Action: CPR Training & Certification — a day dedicated to learning skills that can make a life-saving difference.

By the end of the day, 24 new heroes had completed their First Aid and CPR training and received their certification.

These 24 individuals walked away with more than a certificate to proudly display. They gained the knowledge, skills, and confidence to step forward when someone needs help. Whether responding to a cardiac arrest, choking emergency, or other first aid situation, they are now better prepared to take action when every second matters.

That's what makes them Heroes in Action.

A very special thank you to Honda Canada for generously hosting our event and providing a wonderful space for our participants and volunteers.

Thank you to GTA CPR for providing the professional training and certification and for helping equip another group of community members with life-saving skills.

We are also incredibly grateful to all of our volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the event possible.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who participated and donated. By learning these skills and supporting this initiative, you are helping us build a community where more people are prepared to help when an emergency happens.

Today, our community has 24 more people ready to take action. 24 more people prepared to help. 24 more potential lifesavers.

Congratulations to our newest Heroes in Action! ❤️
