A Rotarian from Mauritius who is currently working at Paarl Hospital, Dr Aartee Reebye (centre), recently visited the Rotary Club of Paarl. With her are Deon Erasmus, president of Paarl Rotary, and David Anderson, president of the Rotary Club of Franschhoek & Drakenstein Valley.
Anderson informed the club about the Mbekweni Community Music Academy which has recently been launched and is in need of musical instruments like guitars, saxophone and violins. Paarl Rotary introduced him to the Wenhold Trust, which has decided to sponsor the centre.
Debbie Annas, who recently retired as head of the Jack Meyer Art Centre in Paarl, gave a talk to local Rotarians on how to recognize different artistic styles. With her is club president Deon Erasmus.
