Christmas carols and a Christmas turkey story!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas! Stittsville Rotarians brought Christmas cheer to the residents of Hazeldean Gardens on Friday, December 06 2019 as everyone joined together in singing traditional Christmas carols. The program also offered a reading by Rotarians Dave Elhadad and Dave Rooke of the well-known Canadian author Stuart McLean’s short story entitled “Dave Cooks the Turkey”, the very first Christmas story on CBC’s Vinyl Café program. In the story, Dave promises his beloved wife Morley that he will take care of the Christmas turkey while she takes the kids to work at the food bank. Of course, Dave fails to realize quite what's involved, and the result is a great story, as he tries valiantly to get the bird roasted in time for Christmas dinner. There were smiles and chuckles around the room as the story progresses to the end.
