“I saw the spirit of friendship in all the members I met.”

The success of a Rotary club depends on attracting and engaging new members because community service projects depend on their good    ideas, energy and commitment. The meeting of July 15th at WJ Bell Rotary Peace Park was the first in-person meeting in many months, but the highlight of the event was the induction of 3 new members into the Stittsville Rotary club.
New Rotarian Sammy Were, pictured above with his mentor, Rotarian Michael Dixon, shared his observations of his first in-person meeting this way:
“My Recollections of July 15, 2021: I was so excited meeting Dave, our outgoing President, who came to pick me up from the parking lot in the company of 2 lovely Rotarians.  Dave and the 2 gentlemen made me feel extremely comfortable. Dave is such a credible person! I later met our President Marion who took time to talk to me and make me feel amazingly comfortable. Thanks Marion!
Everyone I met was so welcoming and with full of joy in their faces. I was truly inspired by how members treat each other with respect and love. I was glad to be in the company of 2 other new Rotarians, and I hope in the future to get to know them as well as other members I never had time to talk to!
I saw the spirit of friendship in all the members I met.  Everyone is so friendly and very welcoming and that made me feel amazingly comfortable.  I left early wishing I could stay longer and have more time with my new family!
I loved the venue and the great work Rotarians have done to beautify the park.  I hope to dedicate my time and experience in serving on one of the committees and the club at large.”
