Stittsville RYLA student of 2018 learned that a single individual can make a big difference.

Amandine Courtemanche, the Gr 11 student from École Paul Demarais, was selected by Stittsville Rotary to participate in RYLA 2018. She recently reported to the club about her experience at the Rotary Youth Leadership weekend where the program included training in the skills of leadership, communication and working with others. She learned that different situations require different strategies and that taking initiative and being adaptable is important. Part of the RYLA program mandated that each student design a project to use the newly-acquired leadership skills back at school. Amandine told club members that the RYLA leadership program was a personally rewarding experience which emphasized that a single person can indeed make a difference.
