Clean Up the Capital is a city-wide campaign that occurs in the spring and fall of every year in Ottawa.
Residents come together as a community and combine efforts to make the city clean and green. Stittsville Rotarians have joined in too, working twice a year along a designated section of Hazeldean Road. They find it a great way to improve the community and foster community pride while at the same time enjoying the outdoors and having fun. Since 1994, more than one million volunteers have participated in more than 20,000 cleanup projects throughout the city. As a result, an estimated 1,000,000 kilograms of waste has been removed from our public spaces.
