Stittsville Rotarians volunteered to clean up garbage in WJ Bell Rotary Peace Park and along streets in the area ensuring that Ottawa stays clean, green, and litter-free.

On September 28th, Stittsville Rotarians joined with Ottawa residents in the Cleaning the Capital campaign for 2022. This initiative is a city-wide cleanup that occurs in the spring and fall of every year. According to City officials, this very successful program is in its 29th year and during that time, an estimated 1,350,000 kilograms of waste has been removed from our public spaces.
Tackling environment issues is an important area of focus for Rotary clubs in countries world-wide and this cleanup activity is just one community service project in the Stittsville Rotary club’s commitment to protect the environment. For more information check out www.stittsvillerotary.com.
