We are pleased to announce the 2021 launch of the Stittsville Rotary International Film Series, now in it its 9th year. Our first film of the 2021 season is 'Some Kind of Heaven' and will be available Sunday March 21st to Saturday March 27th.
Although we would rather be in a live theatre, we have changed our format in order to stay safe in this COVID environment. As we did in the fall of 2020, we will be using the Eventive online streaming platform to show our movies.
The film is available Sunday March 21st to Saturday March 27th and can be viewed anywhere in Canada. A portion of the purchase price ($12.01 including tax) will support the service projects of the Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville. Why watch this film?
Some Kind of Heaven is a documentary set in 'The Villages', America's largest retirement community (described as Disneyland for retirees). Behind the gates of the palm tree-lined fantasyland, four residents strive to find solace and meaning.
This film, the first feature length film for Director Lance Oppenheim, premiered at Sundance in 2020 where it was nominated in the NEXT Innovator Award category. It was the Winner for Best Documentary Feature at the Philadelphia Film Festival 2020 and has received nominations at another eight film festivals.
