Her topic: Membership: an active club that engages in worthwhile service projects in the community attracts new members.
Assistant Governor Teresa Whitmore recently was the guest speaker at a Stittsville Rotary meeting. (see her picture above at an international Rotary conference in Germany.) In her position, she is responsible for encouraging and supporting the 7 Rotary clubs in Ottawa and Nunavut as they strive to meet their club goals. The members of a club are the key factor in achieving those goals, so it was natural that membership was the focus of her speech.
Teresa said that she was impressed with Stittsville Rotary for its full schedule of effective fundraisers and worthwhile service projects. She confirmed that our members show that they are people of action who are committed to improving the quality of life in the community, thereby demonstrating the Rotary mission: Service Above Self. In her experience, worthwhile, well-organized events that are well-publicized will attract like-minded, active people to join a service club.
If membership in a Rotary club as an option for you, this is your invitation for you to join in a Zoom meeting with us on Wednesday evenings at 7:15pm. Meet our members and see what we are all about.
