Stittsville United Church and Stittsville Rotary Club were partners in this community service project to benefit the Stittsville Food Bank.
Pancakes & maple syrup, sausages and baked beans were on the menu and the sunny weather on Saturday, September 23, 2023 was perfect for this community service event. It was an easy way for the community to recognize the efforts of the Stittsville Food Bank in providing nutritious food to families who need it.
A special thank you goes out to local businesses, Brown’s Independent Grocer, No Frills, Food Basics and Moonstone Manor Bed and Breakfast, all of whom supported the breakfast by donating food items.
The Pancake Breakfast event was a lot of fun with volunteers from the Stittsville United Church, Stittsville Rotary and Friends of Rotary participating. High school students volunteered as well to earn community service hours. Theresa Qadri and volunteers from the Food Bank were present as they were grateful to receive community support for their operation. Councilor Glen Gower (see photo above) MPP Goldie Ghamari, Nevil Hunt from the Community Voice and Leslie McKay from Stittsville Central.ca enjoyed the breakfast too.
