The container for Vanuatu has been filled with more equipment and sent on its way. 

 

More than 40 boxes of medical consumables, medical and optometry equipment, 23 student tables and over 80 school chairs, medical linen and scrubs, beds and mattresses, educational and craft materials, over 40 boxes of children's books and an array medical aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, toilet and shower chairs. 

Members, friends and family enjoyed a relaxed, informative evening as project leads spoke about the various projects of Alfredton Rotary. Local, national and international projects were presented, exemplifying the wide-ranging benefits that can be generated by a small number of people working together. It was lovely to see familiar faces as we welcomed past Rotarians back to the fold

This year's District 9780 Conference was a fun-filled, inspiring event held on the Surf Coast.

With excellent speakers, innovative program and beach themed conference dinner, all who attended were in for a treat.

 

The hands-on project for this conference was for the talented among us to knit or crochet squares which will be sewn together to make rugs for a community in the NT and community organisation in Geelong.

Torquay Rotary are still accepting more square until the end of April, so if you'd like to get involved, you would be very welcome.

Completed squares can be delivered to Lesley Shedden at 9 Coral St Torquay 3228.

This month we have been asked to provide BBQ's for the Perfit Crossfit competition on 12 April and Bunnings DTC on Easter Saturday.

Perfit asked us to supply Egg & Bacon Rolls in addition to sausages and the team of Garry, Deb, Rochelle, Kelvin and Kay were certainly up to the task.

It was a warm day and most competitors brought their own food, so we certainly weren't rushed off our feet, but with an income amount guaranteed by the organisers, we had a really interesting day watching and learning as the amazing Crossfit athletes did their 'thing'.

The Easter BBQ was almost the opposite. A  very busy day, with the teams run off their feet to cook and serve 800 sausages. Well done to our well oiled teams - Dan, Stephen, Kay, Grant, Geoff, Robyn, Kathy, Garry, Kelvin, Bett and Rod.

Please support these amazing organisations who have all assisted us in some way. Without them, our reach would be smaller and projects less impactful..
