Rachel Robertson, who was on Rotary Youth Exchange to Peru in 2011-2012 ...Image

ImageRachel gave the members of our Rotary Club an overview of her year in Lima, Peru .... an exciting year it was with lots of travel and adventure. Most of all, Rachel, learned so much about herself and that she can do almost anything she sets out to do. She talked about Rotary in Peru and how much the district has done in promoting and hosting exchange students from all over the world. She was given so many wonderful opportunities to see so much of the Peruvian culture and to experience living with three wonderful host families. Her Spanish is so perfect, other Spanish speaking people (in London, ON) actually think she is Peruvian!

Walkerton Rotary is so proud of our young ambassador! She demonstrated the traits of a true ambassador and was a perfect representative for Walkerton, WDSS, and Rotary! Rachel is the daughter of Grant Robertson and Sarah Slater.

Joining Rachel at Rotary this week were Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders (RYLA) students Kayla Hendriks (SHHS) and Emily Van Oyen (WDCS) who will be attending the weekend seminar in London, ON from May 10-12. Hopefully we may see them both wanting to become Rotary Exchange students!
