Our Club and Canberra Rotoract members are invited to attend a BBQ/picnic this Monday of the long weekend, at Nara Peace Park from 3.30pm (weather permitting). As it World Mental Health Month in October (and World Mental Health Day on October 10th), we request all attendees bring a contribution ($5)pp to support Australian Rotary Health Hat Day - so don't forget your wallet and your hat! You might need a rain hat - the weather is predicted to turn on Monday. Like all good Rotarians, we might need to go to Plan B on the day. By supporting Hat Day, you are helping to lift the lid on mental illness by breaking down the stigma and contributing to vital mental health research. We know that one in five Australians experience a mental illness every year, but with COVID-19 these figures may have increased. Therefore, it is more important than ever that we continue to fund mental health research - specially for our youth. |
