Sioux Falls West Rotary Club recently celebrated an extraordinary moment in our club's history: a surge of generosity, leadership, and Rotary spirit that resulted in six new Paul Harris Fellows and one member achieving Paul Harris Fellow +2. This achievement reflects not only our members' commitment, but also the inspiring leadership of fellow club member and District Governor‑Nominee Jeanelle Lust, who championed a focused Rotary Foundation giving push across the district.
During this special campaign, Jeanelle encouraged clubs to deepen their engagement with The Rotary Foundation and to invest in the life‑changing work Rotary makes possible around the world. Her message resonated strongly within Rotary West, sparking meaningful conversations about service, impact, and legacy.
But the true catalyst for our club's remarkable results was the generosity of club member and Past District Governor Loren Boyens, who offered to donate Foundation recognition points to any member who contributed dollars to the Foundation during the fundraiser period. His gift created a powerful ripple effect, removing barriers, inspiring first‑time donors, and motivating seasoned Rotarians to elevate their giving.
The outcome was nothing short of inspiring: six members earned the distinguished title of Paul Harris Fellow, and one member achieved Paul Harris Fellow +2, marking continued dedication to the Foundation's work and the values it represents.
